Description

A strategic opportunity existed for the world's largest, and arguably most respected, architecture firm to convey a more consistent, unified brand among the dozens of offices scattered around the globe. HOK relied on TOKY to help them achieve this difficult task via its Web site.

Thanks to a comprehensive Discovery and Synthesis process, TOKY created an innovative design and technology solution that enabled all of the offices to easily update the site within a consistent design and navigation framework. This solution also offers the many administrators flexibility they desired.

Particularly unique about the HOK site is that it is content-managed Flash. It was built to tie in with their existing CMS for their Intranet. There is rarely a need to go into the Flash files to make a change, as all text and images are updated through database-driven XML tying in with the Flash. The site offers the ability to manage news through an archive site in HTML (which is searchable thanks to SEO-friendly coding), and have latest news items pulled directly into the Flash site. This eliminates the need to update multiple areas.

Now, content can be quickly and easily uploaded to the site, including more projects, larger images, videos and culture shots from offices around the world -- all helping to reinforce the firm as a global leader, while addressing local concerns such as recruiting and new business development.

The site uses large, beautiful photography to make a visual impact on users. These large images are scalable to any size monitor, and they load fast. Navigation is clean and concise, consistent in with their brand messaging of "Ideas Work."
